Facebook said Wednesday that it plans to spend at least $15 million on advertising during the rest the year.

The announcement comes amid heightened attention to advertising and the impact of fake news on the political landscape.

The company also announced that it will spend $5 million to buy ads on mobile devices from a handful of prominent digital ad companies in the next several months.

The announcements came just a day after President Donald Trump warned Americans to “stay alert” and warned that the government would have to step in if the country was to remain free.

Trump has been vocal about the potential of fake political ads on Facebook, including ads from Russian entities that are believed to have been bought by the Kremlin.

Facebook, however, has said it does not support or fund Russian political advertisements.
